I would like to share with you some more of the giveaway indications of an engineer mentality, remember this is not a university thing it’s way more than that. So when you’re looking to identify an engineer a really good indicator is the hands, after all for us these are directly attached to our brain. Clean hands are not the mark of an engineering mind, we just can’t keep them clean it’s not natural. Scars on hands are normally a good indicator but this needs to be tested, ask about the scars a true engineer won’t have a clue how they obtained them. A story behind a scar tells you that the owner pays way too much attention to biology to be an engineer.
Of course a true engineer will have live cuts, bruises and scrapes on their hands, whenever you look. Don’t be mistaken into thinking that these are the marks of a clumsy man or a fool, far from it. If you watch an engineer you will see that we simply understand the true value of flesh and its properties. The thing with flesh is that it heals, most other material doesn’t, we know that and treat it accordingly. Watch your engineer at work and you will note that he puts his hand between a critical part and his or drill, after all flesh heals but that pipe or wire is important! If the only way to cut a pipe involves a friction sore from nearby structures then so be it, the sore will heal and the pipe will be cut so all good. We aren’t careless or daft we look at all the material and make a sensible judgement, if wiring self healed we would make a different call.
In other news there is sight of some potential progress on the life plan, its a way off yet but it’s enough to make me smile. It’s crazy how much of a grin that I get from a venue that ticks some boxes, just being in the chase makes all the difference.
