As you all know I am not a fan of the festive season either the Christmas part or New Year. I really don’t understand the desire of people to use the New Year as a trigger for change, it makes no sense. To me the New Year resolution crowds are the same as the Lotto dreamers and I have no time for them. There is nothing worse that seeing lazy or regretful people dreaming of a Lotto win to change their life or, worse still, their children’s. If there is something in your life that you don’t like or want to change then take some action, you may only make a small step but any distance can be covered with enough small steps.
New Years resolutions are there to be broken, they are silly pipe dreams made by drunkards and rarely work out. I heard a theory today that there is too much pressure on people who have made resolutions at this time of year and that is why they fail. Firstly can somebody please cut the funding for whatever idiot actually ‘studied’ what amounts to a series of drunken promises? This is not the reason that resolutions fail, they fail because weak-minded simpletons make them! If you want to lose weight, be nicer, work harder, earn more than you would have already made the change and not waited until you were drunk to declare it.
Despite that there are some good things to come from the end of the year and one comes from the WordPress monkeys in their annual report. I have shared 412 posts with you this year and I have to say I have enjoyed it, thank you for reading them. The number of readers has more than doubled and my various ramblings have reached a staggering 59 countries!
Thank you all for your support and readership, I look forward to more writing in 2014 and beyond. For those that follow Rachel, there is so much more to come from my girl so stay tuned and remember whoever you think she is she probably isn’t….
