Today I report vicariously on an advertisement that Andrew recounted to me. The advert was in the local paper and was for a phlebotomist, or blood tester, to work at a doctor’s surgery. The thing that was odd in the advert was the line ‘no experience required’ neither of us considered this a good role for on the job learning. We ask important questions of these people, I can’t quite reconcile that with no experience. Can you imagine the doctor opening the test results and reading ‘positive for cancer or could be pregnant I’m not entirely sure’? Worse still, when your in the doctors and a young girl walks in with blood on her mouth before the doctor says ‘I said test it not taste it’. I know people have to learn but that’s not for me, I prefer my medical staff fully trained!
In other news I awoke this morning to find my arm attached to the duvet cover, breaking the bond resulted in yet more leakage unfortunately. It’s a shame because I thought I had it beaten but its no real concern just tapped another tissue pad over it which will have to remain in place for longer. I finally managed to get the second coat on my door today, its been too cold to have the door open recently. Luckily I put some paper on the floor before I started painting, I wouldn’t have spilt any and its a thick gloss that doesn’t run, but I am disabled. Yep, half way through painting lefty produced one of its specialist random stabs of pain and I launched the brush. Having been imprisoned in a flat with an open door all day I am hoping to be able to close the door soon and retire with my kindle, rock star through and through.
