Good morning to the early hours reader, your there at 5 am every morning so hope I make good breakfast reading! For me I’m tired this morning having had a late night reaching 50% in my book, that metric is biting already.
Lefty is looking just as angry today and I woke up to it being stuck to the sheets, not bleeding much now more weeping but can’t work out what it is that has brought the clamp marks up so aggressively that they look like braille. I am also struggling to digest the burger that I had for dinner last night, not just digest but process as I keep remembering a texture that may have seemed a good idea to the chef but was not. They ground what was clearly not the best beef with a gate that was too large and the resulting mess was far from nice, complain? No this is hotel living remember.
The news this morning alerts me to an inconclusive election result in Italy but with no explanation of how this can occur. Surely it can only be inconclusive if you forget the number while counting? If not it must be conclusive, a number of votes per person and the largest number wins, how have they managed to get that wrong?
Thanks to sis for a lively debate last night, I think we have concluded that I am right and my way forward has more chance of success than hers, in her defence its not her fault that she thinks the way she does after all she is a girl!
Only in a hotel (last night) that charges over £4 for a pint of beer can you experience warm beer and shrugs, not frantic activity and apologies as one would expect but blank looks and complaints from staff. This is the difference between a corporate bar manager in a hotel and a publican, skill. The manager tried to cool my glass using ice, thereby adding water before trying to serve me a pint, no easy task when the beer is warm. The beer fobbed ludicrously and the waste was horrible to watch but what bothered me more was the statement ‘damn beer is playing up’ no dear, the beer is warm and as a result the carbon dioxide that it has absorbed is released resulting in fob.
When somebody challenged the manageress as to the warm beer she patiently explained that they didn’t know what was wrong and that the cooler was ok she would even take the patron to the cellar ans show him. It was all I could do to sit on my hands, this is not rocket science if the beer is warm the chiller is not functioning simple as that. I can’t understand why you would have a bar manager that was not capable of understanding the concept that a chiller chills beer so by corollary warm beer means the chiller is not operating correctly. Perhaps I have hit upon the real difference between the term ‘bar’ and ‘pub’ the later is run by a skilled publican and the former by anyone?
An evening with Mickey and Rose says I may not be correct in my assumptions, this is a pub run by people that shouldn’t be allowed to run a tap, turns out there are just some people that can and some than can’t, please seek out the former people (don’t forget Walton’s Royal Albion).
I close today with a some honourable mentions, first to Jo, I luvs ya but you read them worse than I do! To Heath, sorry I never got back for coffee but good to see you mate. To Paul, I told you that was a great motor. And finally to all the guys and girls at Derby, remember its never as bad as you think.
