I had a catch up with Andrew this morning and he managed to remind me yet again what a legend he is. Having discussed the latest deal he has secured from a supplier which we both thought was a stunner, I asked him if it bothered him when deals were too easy that there may have been more available, the response was instant ‘you can’t take too much on the first go or it looks desperate’. I have learnt from Andrew that there is no such thing as a fixed price and that the lowest price you can drive is not necessarily the best deal.
I nearly breached my reserve line of 50 tea bags this weekend but I asked Andrew to pick me some up so stocks are replenished, it has to be Yorkshire tea and I have to have a good stock! I was told that this was a little OCD of me, the need to keep stock of everything in the flat, I disagree to me its a combination of working away and also growing up without a great deal.
I have relented in the face of a catalogue that would not stop calling to me and there are now a few pieces coming from Wildcat, damn them for being so good. For those that don’t know the brand, these are the guys that invented the tunnels that I wear in my ear, you know the things that look like silver rivets, they are first rate people with a drive to innovation and quality. When your putting things in holes in your body you want quality not Chinese rubbish. Since willpower is not going to win this battle I have decided to pass the catalogue to Helen, sorry Andrew, and see if I can achieve the same audience growth as I did for spiral when my mate Andy’s son Ben got on the mailing list and brought a whole new meaning to pocket money!
