I have to thank my Kirkby friends for making such a wonderful night last night, you have no idea how much your support means to me and I can assure you that we will enjoy our nights again. Interesting to see the Ship being more busy but, in my humble opinion, less local and personable it’s a tough business and its good to see the old girl surviving.
Kirkby continues to confound me, snowball fights at midnight make me think that this delightful village is unique and again it causes me to question how much of the Ship’s success was mine and how much was down to Kirby. I guess that’s what I have been rambling on about, its not the landlords pub it’s the customer’s pub, the landlord is just there to facilitate and to care for the venue.
Spent an afternoon in the Albion and was, as always, lovely to see friends and of course to get my Emily hug! I will miss this area, my friends and my life but I will be bringing most of this with me and in short bursts so I will be able to give real friends the attention that they deserve.
Honourable mention to Hursty and a warm handshake that made me think he would be taking my arm with him!
