I am sure this one will appeal to Steve having doubtless spent some time outside of the delights of china for Christmas.
I believe that the women around us should be treated with respect and looked after I am, to be fair, a sucker for a sob story. But even my rose tinted glasses are struggling with the way that the world is changing, I am repeatedly reading/ hearing/ seeing young women bemoaning the lack of gentlemen in the world and complaining that men don’t know how to treat a lady. Apparently the world is full of men that have forgotten how to treat their princess and make her feel special.
From memory Prince Charming didn’t have to slip out of the ball to break up a fight between Cinderella and her friends, he never had to bail her from a police station or hold her kebab while she vomited in the street! Did Prince Charming slip silently from his beloveds bed only to return at 2 pm and find her still sprawled in cigarette ash and hangover pills?
Cinderella didn’t need half a bottle of vodka before she went to the ball or a jacket to hide the cigarette burns on her dress where she fell it against it the other day drunk. Does anyone remember when Cinderella sunk ten shots and then had to run through the dance floor to vomit? Or how about when she caught the other girl looking at the Prince and threatened to tear her head off?
When fairy tale Princes whisked their innocent young Princesses off to the ball they did so for a night of fantasy and magic, difficult to do if you have to drop little Arthur at his dads on the way and be back by 11 because dad will be too mashed by then to look after him.
I’m not saying that there should not be equality or that women shouldn’t be out there drinking and smoking and doing whatever they want, but if i want to get a job i wear a suit, equality is a two way street.
Ladies please the next time you think to tweet/Facebook/moan to a friend about the fact that guys don’t know how to treat a lady, hold that thought until the next time your thundering shots down your throat and falling down the stairs in a mess and then think on, is it you who has forgotten how to be a lady?
