Having yelled ‘ouch’ repeatedly agin today I think I have just realised why lefty is hurting so much and so often its petulant child syndrome!
My left wrist was in a worse condition than my right but righty gets all the attention with the dog leg angle and the massive scar. I often tell people that actually lefty is the bad one although righty looks worse, I’ve even had to check which one had the original CT scans so that I could confirm.
Although I’m right handed righty is taking life easy, not bearing weight and lapping up the attention while lefty is taking on more and more of the workload without complaint. Well I think lefty has joined a union because there is no overlooking its contribution now, every move and even some static work involves stabbing pain at the level that I almost inevitably shout out; I am starting to think that the bone has a feedback loop such that it has to hear me to know I’ve acknowledged the pain! I’ve tried different movements and exploring with my other hand but all I can detect is a general increase in mechanical noise just can’t explain the onset of pain and I am reminded of my consultant saying “does it hurt all the time?” When I answered ‘no its alright’ he responded with a resolute “oh it will”
