Just had a break in the near horizontal rain and thought I would go check on the BM, I wasn’t surprised to find a flat battery but I was suprised at the consequences!
Took my boost pack but not enough to turn her over, oh well I will do that tomorrow thought I, key out and doors locked manually as not enough power for central locking. Luckily I questioned the odd ticking noise and discovered the drivers side window making a desperate attempt to open in slow steps.
window controls not working so hood up, boost battery on and window back up, only to repeat the same! I can’t leave the bonnet open and definitely not the window especially with the ominous clouds gathering above . . .
Thankfully my mate Andrew popped over and jumped her and she now seems quite contented, I’ve even found enough electricity to inflate the tyre whose slow puncture is forever annoying me.
It may take some time before I can understand just why BMW would conclude that the best thing they can do with the last dying breaths of a battery is to open a window but I suspect health and safety may have a role in the decision.
