I have just seen a panicked 3am post on Facebook from a young mum who says she is too scared to go to her door at this time in the morning as she has no idea who it its.
Has Facebook become a surrogate for life skills? Faced with the doorbell at 3am is the most appropriate response this generation can summon a Facebook post? Did they have no monsters under the beds when they were children? Somebody rouses them from their sleep in the early hours and their natural defensive position is to turn on their phone and advise the world!
I was so tempted to respond with ‘only me’ but I feared being responsible for her running downstairs and letting a psycho in!
Luckily some bright spark added a response suggesting she peak through the curtains with the light off, now there’s a thought!
Newscast of the day award goes to the discussion on the decision to reverse a tax duck employed by Goldman Sachs to avoid tax on employee bonuses that was seen as immoral. The newscaster repeatedly asked ‘do you think that they have only done this because of public opinion, would they have tried to get away with it otherwise?’
Of course they would, or they would never have deployed the scheme in the first place! What do these people think it is? Some kind of reverse psychology deal?
